San Diego Wedding Information
Here are some quick tips and useful information about getting married in San Diego. Classy Event Group offers talented DJs and MCs to help plan and execute the perfect wedding reception but there’s much more involved leading up to it.
First things first, we would be nothing if it weren’t for the great relationships we’ve forged with many of San Diego’s best event vendors (LINK). We’ve worked with each of these companies many times (as well as many other great companies not on that list) and can’t stress how important the venue and vendor selection process is.
Once you’ve found a Ceremony & Reception Venue (link for La Jolla’s best), the typical order of selecting vendors is as follows:
- Wedding Planner, Wedding DJ, Photographer/Videographer
- Dresses, Invitations, Flowers, Officiant
- Photo Booth, Event Lighting, Party Rentals, Cake
- Party Favors, Wedding Party Thank You Gifts, etc…
Obtaining your marriage license in San Diego County is pretty simple. All you have to do is bring your fiance to one of the San Diego County Clerk’s Offices and fill out some preliminary paperwork. You can download the standard marriage application HERE. Once your application is processed and approved, you will then bring that certificate to your wedding ceremony so you both, your wedding officiant, and witnesses can sign it after the conclusion of your wedding ceremony. Simply, return a copy to the City Clerk and your authorized copy will arrive back in a few weeks!
As far as planning the sequence of events for your wedding reception, there are many reasons why you may want to do things one way or another. However, consulting a professional wedding consultant / coordinator as well as your professional wedding DJ will be the smartest move you could ever make. Their experience will prove invaluable simply because it’s very likely that they’ve done past weddings for clients with very similar (we didn’t say exact) needs and tastes. They can help with timing, the sequence of events, event lighting design, and even music selection.
